PRESS RELEASE
Bay Area artist Rebeca Bollinger's exhibition entitled fields will include a double video projection, a DVD piece shown on a plasma screen, and photographs.
The projection piece, "fields," will consist of 400 sixteen-frame images that catalogue elements of an urban environment and become an abstract visual fugue.
In the DVD piece "stream," these same images have been organized into a shimmering flow of data empasizing the patterning of shape and color.
Bollinger will also include a photograph from the "index" series that condenses the fields information into a vibrant color field.
Bollinger received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1993. She received the 2001 Art Council Grant and was recently included in the SFMOMA exhibition "010101: Art in Technological Times."
