PRESS RELEASE
Jessica Snow's new works on paper continue her exploration of the architectural possibilities of color and form. Using a range of geometric shapes to outline fantastical and often precarious structures, Snow also at times suggests more complete topographies or imaginary panoramas. Her acid pop palette and the seemingly attractive and joyous nature of her work often mask a deeper concern with the destructive effects of natural, and occasionally man-made, disasters.

Snow was born in 1964 in Berkeley, California. She received her MFA from Mills College, Oakland in 1996 and her BA Studio Art from UC Davis in 1987. Snow was one of the winners of the 2005 Pacific Coast Competition and has had a solo exhibition at the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside, California; she was also included in Neo Mod: Recent Northern California Abstraction at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento in 2005.
